The Wizards made the decision to fire president and general manager Tommy Sheppard.

Wizards owner Ted Leonsis issued a statement saying,

"A search for new leadership will begin immediately for an executive from outside the organization."

What does Tim Connelly, the Timberwolves' president of basketball operations, have to do with any of that? Well

As soon as it was announced that the job was open on Tuesday, his name was immediately associated with it.
