‘Rest in peace’: Eight-year NFL defensive end Chris Smith dead at 31

According to West Rowan High School in North Carolina, Chris Smith, a defensive end who played in the National Football League for a total of eight seasons, passed away recently.

The New York Post said that there was no information provided on the cause of death.

"Chris was not just a good player, but an even better person! The influence he had on the people around him will live on in their memories forever!

David Whisenant, a reporter who has won an Emmy for his work, stated, "Very terrible news. Chris Smith, who played in the NFL and for West Virginia University, passed away at the age of 31.

According to a piece that was written on the Carolina Panthers by Mike Kaye of the Charlotte Observer, "Chris Smith had a smile that could light up any room he was in.

This is quite upsetting. He was concerned about his family, and especially for his children.

Earlier on in the year, he participated in four games with the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL, making a total of five tackles.

Petara Cordero, Smith's girlfriend and the mother of one of his three children, was killed in 2019 after being struck by a passing automobile as she exited Smith's vehicle. She was the mother of one of Smith's three children.
