It doesn't get much better than Pat Scenna's clutch performance at Howell Park Golf Course on Wednesday.
The Wall junior needed a birdie on the final hole to force a playoff at the Monmouth County Tournament,
so he rolled in a 30-footer that curved around the edge and fell.Scenna's approach shot on the par-4 first playoff hole
came to rest within inches of the cup against Christian Brothers Academy senior Jack Easter.
Scenna won it with a tap-in after Easter's long birdie attempt rolled past the hole.
"I had 131 yards, which was the perfect number for my gap wedge," Scenna recalled of the playoff.
"I thought it might be a little deep in the air, but it was the exact number I needed for that club." "I knew it was going to be good when I saw it hop."
There was appropriate symbolism, with Scenna leading the assault as Wall dethroned Christian Brothers Academy, which had won every MCT since 2012.
