Eric Braeden, 'The Young and the Restless' actor, announces cancer diagnosis in emotional video.

The actor Eric Braeden, best known for playing Victor Newman on the popular soap opera "The Young and the Restless,

revealed in a moving Facebook Live video that he is currently battling cancer.

The 82-year-old German actor revealed to his fans that he started experiencing prostate problems as he recovered from knee surgery.

"I'm sorry to be so frank, but I think some older guys who may or may not listen to this might find this useful. They'll experience it.

As you age, your prostate enlarges, he said. Braeden disclosed that he needed a catheter to be inserted because he was having trouble going to the bathroom.

The issue persisted even after a visit to a urologist, leaving Braeden in excruciating pain one morning on his way to work.

"I was close to Cedars-Sinai Hospital and decided to visit the urology department because, what the heck, I'll just go there.

Who knows, they might recognize me, but I'll just give it a shot," he remembered the incident. After talking with a new urologist,

who ironically revealed to Braeden that he had learned English from his Victor character on "The Young and the Restless," he learned that his condition was more serious.
