Collegiate baseball responds to unexpected No. 1 upset.

On Tuesday, the LSU Tigers took on the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. It was clear that the LSU Tigers were the best team in America.

After the shocking loss the Tigers suffered, it's possible that is no longer the case.

Louisiana had to overcome early adversity that proved they were serious contenders in this contest.

LSU scored first when they batted with two outs in the bottom of the first and scored on a triple that scored an unearned run.

Louisiana responded quickly with a powerful offensive of their own in this game. Heath Hood's two-run home run in the top of the third inning gave the home team a 3-2 lead.

They'd have a lead they couldn't ignore thanks to this. Thanks in large part to another two-run home bomb by outfielder Conor Higgs in the seventh inning, they scored four more runs and won 8-5.

Beating the number one rated squad is a major accomplishment. It's more satisfying because Louisiana won over a rival from within the state.

Many collegiate baseball fans expressed their disbelief on social media after the Ragin' Cajuns' victory.
